IMPORTANT NOTE: The industry data for Aluminum Plate inventories contained in current reports issued in February was revised for December, 2009 to reflect error corrections reported by participating companies. The impact of this revision is to lower the inventories, eliminating what previously appeared to be an increase in inventory levels. The accuracy of the Metals Activity Report (MAR) depends critically on the accuracy of participating companies’ data submissions and in addition to comprehensive input screening, we rely on self-auditing by these companies to ensure that the data we receive is accurate and timely. Whenever participants discover errors in the data they have supplied, their prompt notification allows us to maintain the integrity of the MAR data base.
