Foundation for Continuing Education

The MSCI Foundation for Continuing Education is the entity responsible for the institute's education and training programs. The foundation board works with the staff to ensure that the educational programs provide a high return on investment for members, and that training programs improve member productivity.

MSCI education programs are organized into four different types of teaching and learning environments.

  • Senior Level Education Programs – Through a partnership with the Olin School of Business at Washington University in St. Louis, MSCI will offer, beginning in 2005, a series of multi-day, management-level education courses in such topics as business strategies, supply chain management, financial management, and high-performance organizations.

  • Full-scale training at central MSCI locations – These are full-day or multi-day sessions taught by one or multiple instructors that offer in-depth sales, operations, or general management training. These sessions are usually conducted in the Chicago area.

  • Tailored training for delivery at member sites - MSCI has recast a number of its training programs into half-day or full-day formats for delivery at member-selected sites. These shorter programs provide an excellent overview of each subject and often are hosted or sponsored by chapters.

  • Internet-based product knowledge – MSCI offers MetalLearn™, an Internet-based product knowledge system. Students may take the course from any computer- and Internet-equipped location, at their own pace. MetalLearn provides essential, basic information about the 10 most popular product lines sold by metals service centers.
